Unger HydroPower systems for producing pure water

HydroPower systems transform mains water into water with a very low concentration of minerals for the professional cleaning of windows, façades and other surfaces.

Pure Water is delivered from the filtration system to the pole and brush. After the surface has been brushed and rinsed correctly, it can be left to dry without using a window squeegee.

This category includes HydroPower Ultra deionisation filters, the HydroPower Nano hybrid system and HydroPower RO reverse osmosis systems.

Which Pure Water system should you choose?

The choice mainly depends on:

• The hardness and dissolved solids in the incoming water.
• The amount of Pure Water you need to produce.
• How frequently the system will be used.
• The number of operators or poles working simultaneously.
• The availability of electricity and water pressure.
• The available space and the means used to transport the system.

HydroPower Ultra: DI resin filters

The HydroPower Ultra range produces pure water using ion exchange resin. Mains water passes through the resin, which retains dissolved minerals.

These filters do not require electricity or their own pump. They connect to a water supply with sufficient pressure and allow you to start producing pure water easily.

The range is available in three versions:

HydroPower Ultra S

The HydroPower Ultra S is the most compact model. It uses a 6-litre Ultra resin bag and includes a digital TDS meter to check the quality of the outlet water.

It is intended for occasional work, moderate consumption or users looking for a DI system that is easy to transport and maintain.

HydroPower Ultra L

The HydroPower Ultra L uses three 6-litre Ultra resin bags. Its larger amount of resin allows it to produce more pure water before the resin charge needs to be replaced.

It is suitable for more frequent professional use or for areas where the S model would consume resin quickly.

HydroPower Ultra LC

The HydroPower Ultra LC also uses three 6-litre Ultra resin bags, but has a mobile configuration that makes the filter easier to transport.

The choice between Ultra L and Ultra LC mainly depends on how the system will be transported and used during work.

HydroPower Ultra resin

Ultra filters use pre-dosed resin bags with FloWater 2.0 technology, designed to distribute the water flow evenly inside the vessel.

The TDS meter allows you to check when the outlet water quality is no longer suitable and the resin needs to be replaced.

HydroPower Nano: hybrid system without electricity

The HydroPower Nano combines three treatment stages:

• Pre-filter for sediment, particles and chlorine.
• Nanofiltration membrane.
• HydroPower Ultra DI filter for final treatment.

The system operates without a pump or electrical connection. It includes a flow optimiser that allows the flow rate, pressure and resin consumption to be adjusted according to the water hardness and type of work.

Unger states an approximate output of between 100 and 260 litres per hour, depending on the pressure, adjustment and quality of the incoming water.

It is available in two versions:

• Complete HydroPower Nano: includes the HydroPower Ultra DI filter.
• Basic HydroPower Nano: does not include a DI filter and is intended for users who already have a compatible one.

HydroPower RO reverse osmosis systems

The HydroPower RO systems produce pure water through several filtration stages. Depending on the model, they normally combine a pre-filter, reverse osmosis membranes and a final DI resin stage.

They include a pump to maintain operating pressure and require an electrical power supply.

RO systems are generally suitable for:

• Frequent professional use.
• Areas with hard water.
• High Pure Water production.
• Work with one or more outlets, depending on the model.
• Situations where a DI-only filter would consume too much resin.

HydroPower RO S

The HydroPower RO S is a compact reverse osmosis system with one water outlet.

It has a three-stage filtration process, an electric pump and an approximate maximum output of 180 litres per hour in Pure Water mode.

It also includes a Boost function that supplies mains water at higher pressure for pre-washing particularly dirty surfaces. This function does not produce pure water.

HydroPower RO M and other RO systems

The HydroPower RO M offers greater production capacity and two water outlets, so it may be suitable when two poles are being used simultaneously.

Higher-capacity RO systems and earlier high-performance systems are also available. Before choosing one, it is advisable to consider the flow rate, number of outlets, electricity consumption, available space and maintenance requirements.

DI, Nano or RO: general comparison

• HydroPower Ultra DI: simple system with no electricity, with maintenance mainly consisting of replacing the resin.
• HydroPower Nano: hybrid system without electricity that reduces the load on the DI stage through nanofiltration.
• HydroPower RO: electrically powered system with a pump and membranes, offering greater production capacity for frequent use or hard water.

Working height depends not on the filter but on the pole and its configuration. The same system can be used with different poles, brushes and hose lengths, provided that the connections and flow rate are compatible.
