Unger HCDEU detergent dispenser — soap in pure water for very dirty windows
The HCDEU dispenser is the accessory we always recommend with any pure water cleaning system. Pure water alone is exceptionally effective for regular window maintenance, but when dirt is particularly heavy — grease, building dust, accumulated organic dirt, limescale deposits — adding a small dose of soap to the system significantly increases cleaning power without sacrificing the streak-free finish of pure water.
How it works
The dispenser is installed in the hose between the HydroPower system and the pole. It has its own tank, which is filled with window-cleaning detergent, and a regulator that controls the mixing ratio with the water. The soap is added to the water flow before it reaches the brush, so the brush applies a mixture of pure water and detergent that loosens adhered dirt.
Once the initial scrubbing is complete, the dispenser is closed and the surface is rinsed with pure water — the final streak-free finish is achieved in the same way as with a regularly maintained window.
When to use it
The dispenser is particularly useful for:
First clean after building work — windows with adhered cement dust, paint or silicone that pure water alone cannot dissolve.
Windows with heavy organic dirt — restaurants, kitchens and areas with airborne grease.
Maintenance after a long period without cleaning — when the interval between cleans has been long and the dirt has hardened on the glass.
Coastal areas — sea salt adheres to the glass and sometimes needs a little detergent to be removed properly.
